Exhibition Presentation

Image
In order to fully display my printed infographic, I will need a wall to post it onto. This will need to be in an area not blocked by other displays in order for the audience to see it's entirety. As I've made additional products to sell at the exhibition to raise money for my chosen c harity, I need a table to display these items. In preparation for this I've created a price sheet with Photoshop using the house style of my infographic to stay consistent with my designs. I'll also be using a tablecloth provided by college to cover the table and make the display more presentable. To add visual appeal to my display as well as cover gaps and negative space, I'll be using props related to my subject for decoration and depth. Items I'm collecting in order to do this are shells and coral I've found whilst scuba diving, a diving mask, sellable products laid in a presentable fashion alongside a money jar and lastly several issues of SCUBA, the magazine I used f...

Evaluation

For my final major project my initial aim was to create a product on the topic of shark conservation, with the intention to educate a younger audience to be more aware of how dire the subject is and why action needs to be taken. As I expanded upon my initial ideas of what I could create for my fmp, I decided on making an infographic as my main product. I chose this as not only would it expand my design skills- being a product I haven't made before- but an infographic would allow me to present vast amounts of information in a visually appealing manner in order to catch attention and spread awareness easier than a small poster or magazine would allow me to. My success in creating these products and preparation for my presentation at the exhibition have exceeded my expectations, as well as showcasing my new understanding of codes and conventions, trends, and audience theory in order to grasp the ideal demographic. It also reflects my use of utilities and materials available to me t...

Day-to-Day College Production 20/2/18-7/3/18 Wrote and submitted my initial proposal. 8/3/18 Developed action plan from initial proposal and made a checklist of what needs to be included in my sketchbook taking influence of the work I did last year. This helped in planning the pages of my sketchbook as I can now fill in theories and begin putting research in without worry of running out of room. 9/3/18 Began secondary research by looking into different keywords linked to my subject on YouGov Profiles in order to roughly work the already established target audience. Alongside this I created a survey on SurveyMonkey to establish my primary research and look into what knowledge is already common to my preferred demographic. A problem I encountered here was that I couldn’t access the full version of Profiles so I couldn’t get the full amount of information of a group collected by the site. I contacted YouGov requesting full access for my project research but I haven’t had an a...
